Will it fit your vehicle?

Three ways to check, plus our personal fitment guarantee.

What to look for

You need a standard 50mm × 50mm square receiver on your tow bar. Most utes, 4WDs and SUVs sold in Australia come with one. It looks like this:

50mm 50mm 50mm square receiver

The square opening in your tow bar: that's the receiver. If it's 50mm × 50mm, you're good. Check the rating plate on your tow bar if unsure.

Weight rating calculator

Enter your tow bar's vertical load rating (on the metal plate bolted to the bar). Most Class 4 ute/4WD bars are rated 250 to 350kg vertical.

kg tow bar vertical rating
Carrier tare weight 25 kg
Your bike weight ~110 kg (e.g. Yamaha YZ250F)
Total load 135 kg
Your margin 165 kg

✓ Plenty of margin. Your tow bar can handle it.

Assumes a typical 110kg motorcycle. Adjust for heavier bikes (ADV, big cruisers can be 200 to 270kg).

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

What makes MotoCarriers different?
One-piece welded aluminium platform, TIG-welded throughout, 25kg carrier weight, 180kg capacity. Everything included in the box: stability bracket, loading ramp, front wheel chock, eyelet bolt tie-downs, and all hardware. Built to the same standard you'd expect on quality alloy work, and priced without the retail markup.
What's the difference between Raw Aluminium and Black Powdercoat?
Raw Aluminium ($349) has the natural aluminium deck finish. Lightweight, practical, and won't rust. Black Powdercoat ($379) adds a durable black coating to the steel frame and deck. It's our most popular carrier, and it looks the part on the back of any car or ute. Both carry the same 180kg rating and specs. Can't decide? Most riders choose the Black Powdercoat.
What's included in the box?
The carrier platform, 50mm shank assembly, stability bracket, loading ramp, front wheel chock, hitch pin and clip, two eyelet bolts, and all the mounting hardware including the Allen key. Everything you need to fit it and load your first bike. Tie-down straps are sold separately.
How do I load my motorcycle?
Attach the carrier to your tow bar and tighten the stability bracket. Roll your bike up and into the front wheel chock, which holds the front wheel upright. Run the tie-down straps from your handlebars or frame in a crisscross pattern. The straps compress the suspension, which is what keeps the bike stable. Takes under five minutes once you've done it twice.
Can it carry two motorcycles?
No. This carrier is designed for one motorcycle. The 180kg rating is the total gross load: that's the bike plus any gear strapped to it. If you need to carry two bikes, you'll need a trailer or a dedicated dual-bike carrier.
Is it legal to use on Australian roads?
Yes. The carrier is ADR-suitable for Australian road use. You'll need to ensure your load is secured properly under Australian Road Rules. Reflectors or a rear lighting board are required if the carrier obscures your vehicle's number plate or brake lights. Check your state's requirements.
What's the warranty?
One year on parts and workmanship from the date of purchase. If something fails under normal use, contact us and we'll replace the part or the carrier. The warranty doesn't cover damage from overloading, improper installation, or corrosion from neglect.
How long does delivery take?
We dispatch from Perth via a national freight carrier. Most metro deliveries arrive within 3-5 business days. Regional and remote areas typically 5-10 business days. You'll get a tracking number when your order ships. We dispatch orders placed before 2PM AWST on the same business day.
What if it doesn't work for me?
We don't accept change-of-mind returns. Instead, we want you confident before you order: email us a photo of your tow bar plate and we'll confirm fitment within 24 hours. If we confirm it'll fit, and somehow it doesn't, we'll work with you to make it right. For faulty products, we cover replacement under warranty.
How heavy is the carrier?
The carrier weighs 25kg. You'll want two people for installation: one to lift the carrier into position, and one to guide the shank into the receiver. Once it's on, it stays on until you remove it. Removal is a one-person job.
Will it carry my Surron or e-bike?
Yes. A Surron Light Bee weighs about 60kg and a Talaria Sting about 66kg — both well under half the 180kg rating. The wheel chock and four tie-down points hold an e-moto the same way they hold a full-size dirt bike. Riding something less common? Email us the model and we'll confirm before you order.
